Intoxicated Driver Slams Into Traffic, Kills One
This horrifying crash occurred on I-15 near Rancho California Road in Temecula, CA. Skip forward to 2:22 in the video, you’ll see a gray Chevy Silverado pickup truck speed past the dashcam driver at over 100 mph before crashing into the rear of a Nissan Altima driven by 44-year-old Janet Genao. The crash left Genao dead and three other people injured.
As the dashcam driver pulls up to the accident scene (at around 2:50 in the video), you see that the Altima has been completely destroyed. To the left, you’ll see the driver of the pickup attempting to flee the scene of the accident before collapsing in the grassy median. The driver of the Silverado, 25-year-old Javier Caldera of Auburn, WA, was arrested for DUI and later charged with 2nd-degree murder. In August of 2021, Caldera pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison.
